| CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Indians have acquired outfielder J. Custom Saints Jerseys .B. Shuck from the Los Angeles Angels for cash. Shuck, a left-handed hitter, batted .167 with two homers and nine RBIs in 22 games this season for Los Angeles. He spent most of the season at Triple-A Salt Lake, where he batted .320 with five homers and 57 RBIs in 102 games. The Angels designated him for assignment Tuesday. Shuck, 27, batted .293 with 20 doubles, two homers, 39 RBIs and eight stolen bases in 129 games for Los Angeles last season. Hes expected to join the Indians during Friday nights game against the Chicago White Sox. Shuck is a native of Galion, located in central Ohio, and played college baseball at Ohio State. He was drafted in the eighth round by Houston in 2008. Indians also activated outfielder David Murphy from the 15-day disabled list Friday. Murphy strained a right oblique muscle Aug. 9 and was placed on the disabled list the following day. Hes batting .262 with seven homers and 55 RBIs in 109 games. The Indians, who are trying to stay in playoff contention, open a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox on Friday night. Indians manager Terry Francona said Murphy, a left-handed hitter, will be used off the bench and will likely start Sunday against right-handder Hector Noesi. Murphy signed a two-year, $12 million contract in November. Infielder Justin Sellers was recalled from Triple-A Columbus. CFLPA president Mike Morreale weighed in with a statement Monday. "The collective bargaining agreement clearly prohibits clubs and their employees from publicly criticizing the on-field performance of any player in the CFL," he said. "The purpose of this provision is to ensure that all CFL players, as well as all CFL personnel, are dealt with in a manner thhat is respectful and professional, and the CFLPA will not tolerate anything less in the treatment of one of its players.
